PRAN brand Spice Powder TURMERIC recall

Recalled by Ontime Distribution Inc. · Brooklyn, NY, United States

Class I — High risk. Reasonable probability of serious harm or death.

Why it was recalled

The product was found to contain excessive levels of lead based on sampling by New York State Department of Health, private laboratory analysis, and FDA sampling and analysis.

Some of these cause harm only with repeated exposure (lead in spices, for example), others act within hours (histamine poisoning from spoiled fish). All chemical contamination recalls.

If anyone has eaten it and feels unwell, contact a doctor and mention the recall. FDA lists this recall as terminated: the company has finished removing the product, so it should no longer be on shelves - but it can still be in a freezer or pantry.
