Why it was recalled

Cold-smoked salmon trim, used to manufacture these bagels, processed the same day as a surveillance sample was processed that was found positive for Listeria monocytogenes.

Pathogen: Listeria

Listeria monocytogenes can grow even in the fridge and is especially dangerous in pregnancy.

The most serious food recalls: a contaminated product can cause outbreaks, hospitalisations and deaths, especially for pregnant people, young children, older adults and anyone with a weakened immune system. All bacteria & viruses recalls.
