Apple juice concentrate and organic apple juice concentrate in recall

Recalled by Valley Processing Inc. · Sunnyside, WA, United States

Class II — Moderate risk. May cause temporary or reversible harm; serious harm unlikely.

Why it was recalled

The apple juice concentrates contain high levels of inorganic arsenic. The firm is recalling lots that were distributed for use other than fermentation (i.e. alcohol or vinegar).

Some of these cause harm only with repeated exposure (lead in spices, for example), others act within hours (histamine poisoning from spoiled fish). All chemical contamination recalls.

If your package matches the recalled codes, do not eat it - return it to the store or throw it away. FDA lists this recall as terminated: the company has finished removing the product, so it should no longer be on shelves - but it can still be in a freezer or pantry.
