Frozen Shrimp- packaged in recall

Recalled by Tri-Union Frozen Products INC Dba Chicken of the Sea Frozen Food · El Segundo, CA, United States

Class I — High risk. Reasonable probability of serious harm or death.

Why it was recalled

Frozen Raw Peeled & Deveined tail on, shrimp contains undeclared sulfites

Undeclared allergen: Shellfish

For someone with a food allergy the label is the only protection. An undeclared allergen can trigger a severe reaction even in a trace amount, which is why most of these recalls are Class I. All undeclared allergens recalls.

Lot codes, dates and UPCs

A recall covers only these codes. Compare them with the lot number, best-by date or UPC printed on your package.

Lot# 669/18WH/124; 669/19WH/134; 669/20WH144; 669/30VH/127; 669/01HH/003; 669/03HH011 Best BY: Jul 18, 2026; Jul 19, 2026; Jul 20,2026; Sep 30,2026; Oct 01,2026; Oct 03,2026

Where it was sold

FDA's distribution note: Affected lots were sold exclusively to Whole Foods USA. Whole Foods uses some of the product for its retail in-store deli. Product was distributed to various Whole Foods stores across the country. The remaining portion of the lot, is passed through to a downstream customer in Canada (Seven Seas Fish Co. LTD).

Do not eat it. Class I means FDA judged there is a reasonable probability of serious illness or death. If the brand, size and lot or date code on your package match, throw the product away or return it to the store for a refund, and clean any surface or container it touched. If anyone has eaten it and feels unwell, contact a doctor and mention the recall. The risk from an undeclared allergen is to people allergic to shellfish; for anyone else the product is generally not a safety concern. FDA lists this recall as terminated: the company has finished removing the product, so it should no longer be on shelves - but it can still be in a freezer or pantry.
