Martha White¿¿ COTTON COUNTRY CORNBREAD BUTTERMILK CORNBREAD MIX recall

Recalled by J M Smucker Co · Orrville, OH, United States

Class II — Moderate risk. May cause temporary or reversible harm; serious harm unlikely.

Why it was recalled

The states of Alabama and North Carolina through independent testing notified JM Smucker that aflatoxin levels exceeded FDA specification (<20 ppb). Levels tested ranged from 30 ppb to 207 ppb.

Some of these cause harm only with repeated exposure (lead in spices, for example), others act within hours (histamine poisoning from spoiled fish). All chemical contamination recalls.
