KALO Carrot Cake All Natural Gluten Free Serving size one slice recall
Recalled by KALO Foods, LLC · Stokesdale, NC, United States
Class II — Moderate risk. May cause temporary or reversible harm; serious harm unlikely.
Why it was recalled
The product is labeled as Carrot Cake on the top but the ingredient panel on the bottom is for Chocolate Cake. The Chocolate Cake ingredient statement does not include soy which is in the Carrot Cake.
A label that does not match the product can hide an ingredient someone must avoid, or show a wrong use-by date. All labeling errors recalls.
A recall covers only these codes. Compare them with the lot number, best-by date or UPC printed on your package.
There are no codes on the immediate packaging.

Check the codes, then return or discard. Class II means eating it may cause temporary or reversible health problems. If your package matches the recalled codes, do not eat it - return it to the store or throw it away. FDA lists this recall as terminated: the company has finished removing the product, so it should no longer be on shelves - but it can still be in a freezer or pantry.
Reason The product is labeled as Chocolate Cake. However, the packaging contains slices of carrot cake. The Carrot Cake contains soy which is not listed in the ingredient or allergen contain statement.
Reason Undeclared Soy. Carrot Cake slices were inadvertently placed into some Chocolate Cake slice containers. The Chocolate Cake ingredient statement does not list the allergen soy which is in the Carrot Cake.
Reason Peanuts & Eggs. The firm list peanuts in the ingredient statement but omitted them from the contain statement. They also have eggs listed in the contain statement but there are no eggs in the product.
