Yellow Corn Tortillas in recall

Recalled by Tortilleria Provincia · Bowling Green, KY, United States

Class II — Moderate risk. May cause temporary or reversible harm; serious harm unlikely.

Why it was recalled

During an FDA inspection at the firm, it was discovered that the firm uses, FD&C Yellow #5, in the manufacture of their tortillas. However, FD&C Yellow #5 is not listed in the ingredient statement.

A label that does not match the product can hide an ingredient someone must avoid, or show a wrong use-by date. All labeling errors recalls.

FDA lists this recall as terminated: the company has finished removing the product, so it should no longer be on shelves - but it can still be in a freezer or pantry.
