SunFresh Natural Pitted Prunes recall

Recalled by Sunfresh Natural LLC. · Passaic, NJ, United States

Class II — Moderate risk. May cause temporary or reversible harm; serious harm unlikely.

Why it was recalled

Prunes contained Rhodamine B45170 as unapproved color. The product also contains sorbic acid and the product labeling does not declare this on the ingredient statement.

A label that does not match the product can hide an ingredient someone must avoid, or show a wrong use-by date. All labeling errors recalls.

FDA lists this recall as terminated: the company has finished removing the product, so it should no longer be on shelves - but it can still be in a freezer or pantry.
